Happy food is what we offer at Seeds restaurant … and we know it’s true when our guest start humming while eating; once the food is served, talk is replaced by the sounds of “mmhhhh” and “soooo good”.

Slow food, whole food, organic food, soul food – our menu focuses on traditional Balinese food but with a healthy approach; slow food for sure, as everything is prepared prepared slowly and carefully with much laughing and loving – definitely no microwave oven here! Our small menu engages the senses and changes every day according to the ingredients available. We offer fish dishes only when the local fishermen bring us their catch-of-the-day; why don’t you join us on the beach to welcome ashore the jukungs (traditional outrigger boats) returning with their fresh catch, and choose a fish for your dish-of-the-day. Otherwise we serve vegetarian food – mostly vegan and gluten free – using ingredients freshly harvested from our garden or purchased from the local market, plus organic rice (a mix of heritage white and traditional Balinese red).

(As we only serve fresh food, we have a no meat policy. But you crave a meat ‘fix’ we will willingly prepare a whole Balinese free-range and organic chicken on request.)

We make all our sambals and sauces ourselves; nothing comes out of a bottle! For salad dressings, we make our own vinegar with local palm wine, and use herbs and greens from our organic garden. Home-made produces include vinegar, herbal salt, granola, raw chocolate, spices-infused arak, hot Tabasco, kombucha, all kind of herbal teas from the garden, chilli oil.

Guests with a sweet tooth are by no means overlooked. In fact our reputation for yummy vegan, gluten-free and raw cakes as well as more-ish raw chocolate has already stretched to Ubud! Among the irresistible offerings are vegan and gluten-free chocolate brownie, vegan and gluten-free apple/snakefruit crumble pie, raw vegan mango cheese cake, and raw chocolate cake.
